About
Formed in 2021 in a rain-soaked basement in Southeast Portland, The Wayward Pines make music for the hours between midnight and dawn. The trio — Eli Voss (vocals, guitar), June Nakamura (bass, synths), and Tomasz Wojcik (drums, percussion) — build layered soundscapes that pull from shoegaze, post-punk, and Pacific Northwest folk.
Their debut LP Lowland (2023) earned a cult following on the college radio circuit. The follow-up EP Vanishing Points caught wider attention, landing them opening slots for Japanese Breakfast and Big Thief. Ghost Frequencies, their second full-length, was recorded at a converted church studio in Astoria, Oregon over two fog-heavy weeks in November 2025.
The sound is patient, heavy, and honest — guitars that shimmer and sting in equal measure, bass lines you feel in your ribs, drums that know when to breathe.
“Portland's most exciting new voice — atmospheric, raw, and impossible to pin down.”— Willamette Week
“Ghost Frequencies is a slow-burn masterpiece. Every track earns its silence.”— KEXP
“Shoegaze for people who still believe in songs.”— Pitchfork
